At
Stone Hill Contracting, they take safety very seriously. From the estimating
stages straight through to final Punch List, Stone Hill employees are
trained to think about the safety aspects of every assignment. Over the
years, Stone Hill has come to realize the benefits of working safely. Some
of the most obvious things are keeping their employees safe and healthy so
they can continue to work, and the savings in insurance premiums, but what
isn't quite as obvious is Safety can make a project more productive, can
give the company an advantage at bid time, and it works for marketing as
well.
How can
safety do all that? By working safely and keeping a well organized project
site, work production is increased and that helps the bottom line. By
working safely, and limiting exposure, insurance costs go down, and thereby
the company has a benefit at bid time over a company that does not care as
much about their safety program. The Owners and Design Professionals on each
project take notice of the safety aspects on the project. They not only
notice the occurrences when there are accidents, but they take notice
of the cleanliness and working environment, and how organized the company
worksite happens to be.
Safety is
important in all aspects of Construction, and that is why Stone Hill
Contracting has developed the S.A.F.E. (Stay Accident Free Everyday) Safety
Program. This program was developed in house, and it uses awards to reward
workers who work safely, as well as for employees who are willing to take
the time to go that extra mile in order to receive training in multiple
disciplines. Stone Hill offers training in most OSHA topics, in house in
their own training facility, and for those who want to seek instruction
elsewhere, there are provisions for that as well. From the OSHA 10 Hour to
Red Cross First Aid Training, Stone Hill Management regards training for safety, an
integral part of developing the best Construction Team in the Industry.
